'Absolutely Frightening' - Paddy Kenny drops big Leeds prediction after Monday reveal

The prospect of Leeds United playing at a packed out Elland Road next season is “frightening” for their rivals.

That is according to ex-Whites shot-stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Boris Johnson confirmed up to 10,000 fans can attend sporting events from 17 May onwards.

That means Leeds supporters will see their team play in the flesh in the Premier League for the first time in 16 years when they face West Brom on the final day.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side beat Spurs in West Yorkshire on Saturday, meaning none of the so-called ‘big six’ sides has managed a victory at Elland Road this season.

And Kenny predicted that Leeds will be an even more fearsome opposition with the backing of their famously dedicated fanbase.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “This record against these very top teams is without any fans being there for the full season.

“I can only imagine with fans being there it will be even harder for these teams coming to face Leeds.

“In the Premier League, with a full crowd, it would be absolutely frightening for an away player.

“Every club could say they will have a boost. But Elland Road when it’s rocking is a really, really special place to be.”

Leeds’ victory over Spurs on Saturday leaves them 10th in the Premier League standings with three matches remaining.

They face Burnley, Southampton and West Brom in their final three fixtures in 2020-21.

In other news, Leeds United backed to pinch £20million-rated player from relegated Premier League side.
